Before starting the course, candidates need to know the eligibility criteria and the Scrum Master certification prerequisites. This article helps to know the prerequisites to attend the CSM training and the eligibility required to be met in order to get certified.

Prerequisites for attending CSM training

There are no prerequisites to taking the CSM Training. Any candidate looking to enhance their knowledge of Scrum can attend the CSM course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®) which can be either face-to-face or online.

CSM Certification Requirements

The requirements to be met by the candidate to take up the certification are:

1. It is mandatory that the candidate attends a 2-day or 16-hours face-to-face training conducted by a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®) wherein the exact values and principles of the working of Scrum within an organization will be briefed. 
2. Additionally, the candidate has to go through the Scrum Foundations eLearning series which consists of a series of videos that help to understand Scrum Theory, Scrum Events, Scrum Roles, and Scrum Artifacts. 
3. The candidate has to get familiar with the Agile Manifesto by reading the Scrum Guide. 
4. After completing the 2-day course, the candidate can proceed to take the Online certification test that is administered by Scrum Alliance. 
5. In order to clear the CSM Certification test, the candidate needs to score a minimum of 74% i.e. correctly answer 37 out of 50 questions in 60-minutes.
